Reasons to Consider Breast Augmentation Revision Surgery

You may wish to consider breast augmentation revision surgery for aesthetic issues such as:

  • Breast implant wrinkling or rippling
  • Double bubble or bisected implant
  • Implant visibility
  • A desire to change breast shape or size

Certain physical issues can make breast implant revision necessary as well. These include:

  • Implant rupture
  • Capsular contracture
  • Physical discomforts

There are, of course, reasons not listed that may prompt a call to Dr. Kofkoff for breast augmentation revision surgery as well. During your implant revision consultation Dr. Kofkoff will listen to your concerns to help you determine if this is the right procedure for you.

Breast Implant Revision Candidates

To be a good candidate for breast implant revision surgery you will need to be:

  • A nonsmoker
  • In generally good health
  • Aware of the benefits and limitations of the procedure
  • Aware of all possible risks and complications
  • Prepared to take time off from work and certain activities
  • Willing to closely follow Dr. Kofkoff’s pre and postoperative advice

Dr. Kofkoff is often able to use the same incision locations as your original surgery to help minimize postoperative scarring, but revision may result in visible signs of surgery for several months. This is different for every woman and something Dr. Kofkoff will cover in greater detail during your initial consultation.
